An exciting position has become available in youth offending to join the leadership management team: We are looking for an exceptional calibre YOS Operations Manager to help provide high-quality youth justice leadership. We are specifically looking for someone with excellent understanding and management experience of youth justice services and assurance processes to enable the delivery of high-quality services:

To be responsible for the management of a multi-disciplinary team of caseworkers and specialist posts from partner agencies such as Probation and Police, ensuring the service provided to young people is underpinned by effective youth justice practices:
Qualification – Essential

GCSE Grade A-C (or equivalent) in English Language and Mathematics
Professional qualification in a relevant discipline (Law, Youth Work, Social Work, Teaching, Probation)
Recognised Youth Justice accredited training
An accredited qualification in leadership management
Expert user AssetPlus
Advanced user of Microsoft Office, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Social Media-

To apply for this position candidates MUST possess the following skills and experience
The ability to converse at ease with customers and provide advice in accurate spoken English is essential
Knowledge and understanding of critical issues and the factors which place young people at risk of involvement in crime
Up to date knowledge and experience of the legislative framework that underpins the delivery of youth justice services
Working knowledge of the YJB National Standards for working with young offenders
Sound understanding of the APIR process within the delivery of youth justice
Management, supervisory skills and ability to motivate and develop highly functioning teams
Demonstrable knowledge and understanding of complex operations and diverse issues relating to planning, delivery and day to day management of youth justice services
High level of interpersonal communication skills – listening, negotiating, influencing, enabling, brokering and problem-solving skills
Comprehensive understanding and ability to use a variety of quality assurance systems and processes to support the delivery of high-quality youth justice service
Experience of risk management and safeguarding of young people within the youth justice
Experience in writing high-quality reports for a variety of audience
Proven experience of establishing and effectively managing multi-disciplinary and partnership working arrangements
Knowledge of staff supervision, including task allocations, priority setting, performance management and training and development
Change management and project management experience
Enhanced DBS on the update system – essential
Able to provide Five Years of references – essential
