We are looking for an Interim Manager; to manage a complex portfolio of Families Directorate strategic projects and programmes that deliver(s) required outcomes, i.e. savings, business change, service improvements. To work closely with Senior Officers and Members to achieve their vision for the Families Directorate:
Responsibilities:
Responsible for delivering programmes, projects and other activity across the Families Directorate. Plan and ensure service delivery within a complex/diverse environment. Control operational activities within the service area and ensure professional standards are delivered:
Qualification – Essential

GCSE Grade A-C (or equivalent) in English Language and Mathematics
Degree level or equivalent, NVQ level 4 &/or relevant experience
Recognised programme or project management accreditation – Prince2, MSP, MoP
Advanced – Microsoft; Word, PowerPoint, – Excel, Outlook
Essential – Skills, Abilities & Experience
Relevant experience of managing change and transformation in a families services environment
Ability to manage projects using the Prince2-aligned project management methodology
The ability to successfully plan, manage and communicate project risks
Experience of managing change programmes and projects, working to time, budget and quality in a large organisation
Knowledge of building excellent relationships with senior managers and Members
Experience of planning and managing a mixed and varied workload of conflicting priorities responding effectively to the needs of all customers
Knowledge of report writing and communicating complex issues to a broad range of audiences
Experience in dealing with a variety of complex and contentious matters requiring a consistently high degree of support, persuasion and advocacy and awareness of significant policy objectives
The recent involvement in matrix managing and coordinating employees who are carrying out work across a range of substantial functions
Experience of working in a risk management environment with active tracking and mitigation of risks
Competent budget manager with expertise in deploying, reallocating and reassessing resources in a dynamic, multi-project environment.
An exceptional communicator who can operate and empathise with stakeholders and business groups
Strong leadership, influencing, people engagement, and people management skills
Creative and innovative in finding solutions to complex problems.
Knowledge of governance frameworks for both the constituent projects and the programme itself
High level of organisational and strategic awareness
DBS Clearance – required for this role
Able to provide 3 Years of references – essential

Hours: 36 hours per week
Duration: Minimum of three months – Extension on Performance
