We are recruiting a Business Support Officer to work in Children & Families Services dealing with Domestic Abuse Intervention for a public sector client in East London: To perform a high level of administrative duties for our Domestic Abuse Intervention Service. The ideal candidate to have excellent communication skills, be proactive, and be able to be the first point of contact for the team. Previous experience within Children & Families Services / Domestic Abuse Intervention Service is desirable:

Responsibilities
To act as first contact point for enquiries (some may be complex and or contentious) from other staff, members of the public, representatives of outside organisations, agencies etc. Giving relevant information and dealing with queries where possible and where not possible, to direct people to the person they need to speak to:

Qualification – Essential

GCSE Grade A-C (or equivalent) in English Language and Mathematics
NVQ Business Administration Level 3, BTEC or equivalent
Office skills-based qualifications such as RSA, including taking Minute’s
Advanced ECDL –Microsoft Office, Word, Excel, PowerPoint or Adobe, Outlook and Social Media
Skills, Abilities & Experience – Essential

Good experience of working in an administration role
Experience in successfully managing a variety of projects simultaneously and achieving targets
Experience of working within a local authority setting and Experience of working children’s social services
Able to demonstrated understanding of key administration requirements of a busy office environment
Able to demonstrated understanding of key tasks undertaken by a children’s social work team
Proven interpersonal and communication skills including the ability to deal with members of the public and staff in a sensitive and appropriate manner
Experience of minute taking to a very high and professional standard
Advanced computer competent, and the skills necessary to work with information management systems,
Able to producing good quality data in a variety of formats
The ability to work with word processing packages at a speed commensurate with the responsibilities of the role
Good organisational skills and the ability to create and sustain systems to co-ordinate work processes
The ability to manage competing demands, work methodically, think systematically and achieve targets
Enhanced CRB/DBS; on the disclosure & barring service update system – essential
Able to provide Five Years of references – essential
