We are recruiting an Information Officer for a public sector client in East London: To load contact data through robust scrutiny and analysis of information held on a range of IT systems to provide timely and proportionate information for managers, external forums and partner agencies. The post plays a key role in supporting the efficient running of the service and in contributing to the overall effectiveness of referral and support mechanisms for services to children and young people.

Responsibilities
To undertake thorough database checks on children and families in response to information requests and to ensure that the information required is provided in a timely and professional manner:

Qualification – Essential

GCSE Grade A-C (or equivalent) in English Language and Mathematics
NVQ Business Administration Level 3, BTEC or equivalent experience in a related role
Enhanced CRB/DBS; on the disclosure & barring service update system – essential
Advanced ECDL –Microsoft Office, Word, Excel, Outlook and Social Media- essential
Skills, Abilities & Experience – Essential

Advanced keyboard skills and an aptitude for entering data quickly and accurately
Experience of maintaining and developing management information systems
Advanced user of Microsoft Office toolset and the Internet and broad confidence in a range of software applications including email, web browsers etc
Proven knowledge and recent experience of information management and recording systems
Excellent oral and written communication skills
Proven ability to relate confidently and effectively with partners, members of the public and colleagues
Capacity to prioritise tasks, manage own workload and be accountable for records and contacts with and relating to children and families
Ability to summarise, analyse and evaluate complex information
Able to demonstrate reliability and integrity together with an enthusiastic and positive attitude
Able to demonstrate the capacity to apply diplomacy and demonstrate resilience in a complex and demanding environment.
Ability to work creatively utilising an analytical and methodical approach to solving problems
Proven knowledge and understanding of policy, procedure and guidance concerning children in need and at risk
Able to demonstrate a good knowledge of the Data Protection Act.

Able to provide Five Years of references – Essential
