We are recruiting an Education, Health and Care Plan Coordinator for a public sector client in East London: To be responsible for the day-to-day management and administration of the notification, statutory assessment and review process for children and young people with special educational needs within statutory timescales and in line with appropriate legislation and Policy and Procedure (including writing and issuing Education, Health and Care Plans and reports for SEND Tribunal).
To develop procedures and systems to implement statutory duties regarding children and young people with SEND.

  • To interpret legislation, national best practice and local policy to provide high-quality guidance and advice to parents, settings and other agencies to assist in raising the achievement of children and young people with SEND
  • You will support in the securing of appropriate provision for the child or young person in line with the SEND Regulations and ensure decisions on placement is in the context of available budgets and equality issues.
    Qualification – Essential

    GCSE’s, Grades A-C or equivalent to include Maths and English
    Degree level or equivalent
    Advanced – Microsoft; Word, PowerPoint, – Excel & Outlook – essential
    Skills, Abilities & Experience – Essential

    Experience of initiating and implementing complex procedures at a high level.
    Experience of negotiating, conciliating and resolving a wide range of management and case issues
    Experience of working with parents, headteachers and professional staff and agencies
    Practical experience of actively promoting equal opportunities as an integral part of the work with children, parents/carers and colleagues.
    Knowledge of how and against whom discrimination operates to deny equality of opportunity.
    Knowledge of management information systems
    Person-Centred planning skills
    Knowledge of the range of special educational needs, and specific legislation relating to Special Educational Needs and disability
    Enhanced CRB/DBS; on the disclosure & barring service update system
    Able to provide five Years of references – required
