We are looking for an experienced admin officer; to update and maintain spreadsheets, liaise with customers and debt advice organisations to ensure that performance expectations are met; Experience of working within a council tax environment with up to date knowledge of Council Tax Legislation is desirable, but your excellent communication skills, keen eye for detail and an analytical mind are what we are looking for;
Responsibility
To be responsible for undertaking a range of business support functions, that support users requiring council tax advice:
Essential – Qualification
GCSE Grade A-C (or equivalent) in English Language and Mathematics
NVQ Business Administration Level 3, or equivalent experience
Advanced ECDL –Microsoft Office, Word, Excel, Outlook and Social Media
Essential Skills and Experience
Advanced / PowerUser of using Excel spreadsheets including V-lookup, Pivot Tables and Reports
Experience of working in a customer service (council tax or income collection) environment – is desirable
Outstanding customer care skills and the ability to deal with vulnerable customers
Ability to be flexible and respond to customer needs
Ability to communicate orally and in writing with clear, fluent, jargon-free and readily understood English
Ability to work as part of a team and has a clear understanding of team-working
Ability to promote and give a positive image of the team, the service area and the business unit
Able to engage constructively with and deal with a wide range of people in person and by telephone including Members, senior officers, members of the public and people from other organisations.
Advanced MS Office user able to produce documents, presentations, reports and to input, retrieve and analyse data from IT systems
Ability to manage time, work to deadlines and prioritise work in an effective and productive manner
Ability to understand relevant policies and procedures, as they affect the role, and the quality standards and outputs required in the job
Able to use own initiative and work with limited supervision while understanding the need to consult with line manager on occasions.
Ability to handle confidential and sensitive information with appropriate discretion.

Able to provide references covering the last Five Years
