We are looking for an experienced office administrator; to provide a confidential and effective administrative and project support to the team and other teams within the directorate as may be determined; good experience in updating web and intranet pages, basic finance, and general all-round admin duties;
Responsibility
To be responsible for undertaking a range of business support functions, e.g. processing invoices, raising purchase orders, placing orders and processing expenses claims/mileage claims as necessary, maintaining and reviewing cost centre
budget spreadsheets and providing budget monitoring information and coordinating monthly / weekly returns and rotas.
Essential – Qualification
GCSE Grade A-C (or equivalent) in English Language and Mathematics
Office skills-based qualifications such as RSA, Pitmen,
NVQ Business Administration Level 3, or equivalent experience
Advanced ECDL –Microsoft Office, Word, Excel, Outlook and Social Media
Essential Skills and Experience
Strong and recent experience of providing office administration/service support services
Good experience of working effectively with a range of professional staff and external agencies
Excellent experience of maintaining computerised and manual information management systems
Good experience of supporting and overseeing staff
Excellent understanding of good customer service, particularly with external agencies.
Understanding of and commitment to Equality and Diversity
Some knowledge of local government procedures and processes
Advanced Administrative skills and able to deliver to a high standard
Proven experience and ability to handle sensitive and confidential information appropriately
Ability to undertake research and project work
Advanced Information Technology skills for utilising the Internet including Advanced Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook).
Able to demonstrate accuracy in dealing with data
Flexible, adaptable and able to work using own initiative
Proven ability to prioritise and meet deadlines
Enhanced CRB on the Disclosure & Barring Service update system
Able to provide references covering the last Five Years
