Children’s Centre Administrative Assistant
We are looking for an experienced children services administrator to assist the Office Manager with a high-quality administrative service to support the smooth functioning of the teams, and to undertake reception duties including; dealing with telephone queries, receiving visitors and directing them to relevant activities and resources within the building. To support office finance systems and processes, to signpost and promote services. To accurately input confidential data onto databases, to support the Manager with admin duties and, to liaise with customers and suppliers

The Administrative Assistant is responsible for leading on key tasks ensuring efficient and accurate completion. They will be expected to work as part of a team and be able to deal with day to day issues using their initiative. The Administrative Assistant will have a proactive approach to tasks, excellent timekeeping skills and, show dedication to delivering an excellent service to all.

Essential – Qualification

  • 5 GCSEs or equivalent including English and Maths (C and above)
  • High level of competency in proofreading
  • Typing speed of 60 wpm minimum
  • Degree level or equivalent, e.g. NVQ level 4 &/or relevant experience
  • Advanced –Microsoft Office, Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook

  • Able to attend to details, quality-minded with a flexible and positive approach to tasks
  • Recognised Ability to communicate in a variety of ways with people according to their needs and circumstances
  • Proven ability to complete relevant records, such as job sheets, timesheet
  • Ability to complete written logs and statements to a high standard including sensitive data required as evidence
  • Strong experience of dealing with complex and major, telephone, personal and written enquiries/complaints.
  • Good experience of dealing with demanding situations and diffuse conflict
  • Ability to keep clear records and complete timesheets
  • Good experience of prioritising and manage time and work to deadlines
  • Ability to show excellent customer focus throughout the organisation
  • Ability to take and follow instructions
  • Enhanced CRB on the Disclosure & Barring Service update system
  • Able to provide references covering the last Five Years
