Job Title: Private Sector Enforcement & Regulation Team Manager
Salary: £25.40 per hour PAYE
Location: South West London
Hours: 35.00 hours per week
Duration: Min 6 months – extension on performance

Our Client in South West London is recruiting a Private Sector Enforcement & Regulation Team Manager: To oversee and coordinate the delivery of a viable and responsive private sector housing service as part of the Private Sector Housing Team. To work by the current private sector housing strategy and the policy and procedures of the Service:

Qualification – Essential

  • 5 GCSE’s including English and Maths or equivalent
  • A Degree or Diploma in Environmental Health or equivalent Certificate of Registration of the Environmental Health
  • MSc/BSc in Environmental Health or a Diploma in Environmental Health accredited
  • Membership of the Chartered Institute of Environmental Health
  • Enhanced CRB/DBS Within Last 12 Months
  • Advanced IT Skills – Word packages and database use.

    Skills, Abilities & Experience – Essential

  • Proven experience of working within a local authority Environmental Health/Private Sector Housing Service.
  • Strong experience of successfully leading, managing, supervising, coordinating and planning the work of staff groups
  • Experience of successfully working collaboratively with service users, providers, agencies and stakeholders in a complex multidisciplinary organisation
  • Outstanding experience of writing reports and dealing with complex correspondence and drafting briefing papers.
  • Proven experience of achieving performance targets and departmental meeting objectives
  • Knowledge of the main functions of a local authority and role of enforcement and regulation in private sector housing.
  • Knowledge of developments in outside agencies and of the sociological, demographic and geographical demands and constraints of inner-city councils
  • Sound knowledge of basic housing and health concepts in all fields, including legal and practical principles.
  • Understanding of the need for financial control and the means of operating a responsive service within the constraints
  • Strong Numerical skills and competent in Arithmetic and basic Statistical methods
  • Excellent IT skills, proficient in Microsoft packages, especially word, excel and databases
