Job Title: Youth Justice Case Officer
Salary: £20.07 per hour PAYE
Location: North East London
Hours: 36.00 hours per week
Duration: Min 6 months – extension on performance
Our Client in North East London is recruiting a Youth Justice Case Officer: To undertake all duties about the provision of assessment, report writing, supervision and case management regarding all matters relating to young people entering the Youth Justice System by Local and National Standards and all relevant policies and procedures.
Qualification – Essential
5 GCSE’s including English and Maths or equivalent
A professional qualification; CQSW; DipSW; P.G.C.E or
Diploma in Youth & Community Studies; Professional Certificate in Youth Justice, Foundation Degree in Youth Justice
Experience of working directly with young people in an inner-city
GSCC Registered
Enhanced CRB/DBS Within Last 12 Months
Advanced IT Skills – Word packages and database use.
Skills, Abilities & Experience – Essential
Must be an experienced case manager with extensive experience completing Asset Assessments, ROSH, Risk Management plans and Vulnerability Management plans.
Competent in managing high-risk cases such as bail and remand, DTO and ISS.
Excellent report writing skills
Proven ability to manage a mixed caseload of custodial and community sentences
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to carry out interviews
Proven working knowledge of national standards and local policies and procedures
Ability to work with members of the public/clients
Ability to supervise others and the ability to build strong working partnerships
Excellent analytical skills
Ability to manage workload and work as part of a team
Proven ability facilitate meetings and carry out and complete ASSET, ROM and other detailed assessments with young people and their parents/Carers/Guardians
Ability to communicate with staff of all levels, with proven interpersonal skills
Strong experience preparing intervention plans for young people based on the YOS CASE management procedure, APIR and risk and protective factors
Experience of administrative tasks associated with case management such as appointments, letters and electronic referral forms
Ability to work as part of a small team and on own initiative
Excellent IT skills, proficient in Microsoft packages, especially excel and access.
