Job Title: Legal Clerk, Law and Governance
Salary: £14.08 per hour PAYE
Location: Central London – WC1H
Hours: 36.00 hours per week
Duration: Min 6 months – Placement

Our Client in Central London is recruiting a Legal Clerk, Law and Governance: – To work alongside lawyers in delivering of legal services to our clients including attending courts representing the organisation and administrative duties in the office. Also: To prepare, copy and deliver a variety of documents as required by the fee earners in the Section:

Qualification – Essential

  • Law degree or full/part qualified Legal Executive
  • ILEX qualification as Fellow or Associate or higher legal qualification including BVC or LPC
  • Enhanced Disclosure
  • ECDL Advanced – Microsoft

    Skills, Abilities & Experience – Essential

  • Experience of filing various courts documents
  • Experience of representing in Court on interlocutory applications
  • Strong experience of prepare letters and notices in respect of applications for warrants to ensure annual gas safety checks are completed
  • Knowledge of court and conferences with Counsel and take detailed comprehensive and accurate notes.
  • Able to undertake work for other sections as required.
  • Able to liaise closely with clients and departments to ensure the provision of all information needed is obtained to issue proceedings for possession.
  • Able to undertake casework, and draft statements, as directed by the senior lawyer.
  • Proven experience of working in a legal or an equivalent environment
  • Proven ability to give sound Legal Advice to a range of customers
  • Knowledge of preparing, drafting, negotiating and completing legal documents in the field of contracts law
  • Good working knowledge and application of legal case management systems
  • To have a strong interest in completing the Bar Vocational Course or Legal Practice Course
  • Knowledge of providing a full range of professional legal advice and assistance to Client Services in a public sector environment
  • Good experience of issuing Legal Notices
  • Enhanced CRB on the Disclosure & Barring Service update system
  • Able to provide references covering the last three Years
